These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Restful Reads platform. By using our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

About Restful Reads

Restful Reads provides personalised bedtime stories and relaxation content for children. The platform is intended for use by parents, guardians, or authorised carers who manage accounts on behalf of children.

Account Eligibility

Accounts must be created by an adult aged 18 or over acting as a parent, guardian, or authorised adult carer. Children are not permitted to create accounts directly. You remain responsible for any child-related information you provide and for supervising children during use of the platform.

Use of the Service

You agree to use Restful Reads only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not resell, distribute, or publish generated content without permission, attempt to access or interfere with systems, data, or accounts that do not belong to you, or use the platform to generate inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content.

Generated Content

All story content generated through Restful Reads is intended solely for personal use. While stories are thoughtfully designed to support calm, reassurance, and emotional wellbeing, they are not intended to provide medical, therapeutic, or professional advice.

Restful Reads retains all intellectual property rights in the platform, software, branding, and the overall structure and presentation of generated content. By using the service, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access, store, and read your generated stories for private, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, licence, or otherwise exploit generated stories outside the platform without our written permission.

Where a generated story incorporates or references third-party characters, brands, or other intellectual property at your request, Restful Reads does not claim any rights over such third-party material. Such stories are provided on a personal, fan-fiction basis only and may not be used commercially or publicly.

Personal Use & Third-Party Intellectual Property

All content generated through Restful Reads is supplied solely for your private, personal enjoyment. Where you choose to include names, characters, brands, or other elements that may be protected by third-party intellectual property rights, you acknowledge that such material is provided entirely at your request and for personal, non-commercial use only. Restful Reads does not offer licensed or official versions of any third-party works and has no affiliation with their respective rights holders. You are responsible for ensuring that any inputs you provide do not infringe the rights of others.

User-Added Stories

You may add your own stories to your personal bookshelf for convenience and private use. These stories are stored securely and are not shared publicly. You are responsible for the content you upload, and you agree not to store anything illegal, harmful, or infringing on the rights of others. We do not routinely review user-added stories, but we may remove content or suspend accounts if required by law or to protect the platform and its users.

Subscriptions & Paid Features

Restful Reads operates on a recurring subscription model. Subscription pricing, billing frequency, and the number of story generations included with each tier are shown at the point of purchase. Subscription fees are charged in advance and renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal.

Story generation allowances are provided through a credit-based system. Credits are personal to your account, have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may not be exchanged for money or any other benefit outside the platform. Subscription credits are issued on a monthly basis and normally expire at the end of the relevant monthly allowance period. We may allow a limited additional grace period of up to 21 days for unused credits, but this is discretionary and may be reduced, removed, or forfeited where a subscription is downgraded, cancelled, or otherwise no longer eligible for that carry-over. Credits linked to a higher subscription tier may not remain available after a downgrade or cancellation.

Upgrades may take effect immediately and any price difference will be adjusted on a prorated basis for the remainder of the billing period. Depending on the type of change, a new billing cycle may begin immediately. Downgrades and cancellations usually take effect at the end of the current billing period. Where a plan change is scheduled for a future date, your existing plan and entitlements will continue until that change takes effect.

Access to features may vary by subscription tier. Some tiers may allow continued access to saved stories and selected content while restricting the creation of new stories. Details of what is included in each tier will be shown at the point of purchase or change.

Subscriptions described as unlimited remain subject to a fair use policy. We reserve the right to monitor unusually high or abnormal usage in order to protect the reliability of the service for all users. Where usage approaches or exceeds what we reasonably consider fair, appropriate, and proportionate personal use, we may apply reasonable safeguards or ask you to contact us. Additional allowance may be granted at our discretion where usage is considered fair and legitimate.

Audio Narration & Audio Credits

Audio narration is a subscription-only feature. An active subscription is required both to listen to narrated stories and to create new ones. If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, access to audio narration will be suspended regardless of any audio credits remaining in your account.

Audio credits are provided alongside your monthly story credits and are subject to the same expiry terms: they normally expire at the end of the relevant monthly period, with the same discretionary grace period described above. Audio credits may also be purchased separately as add-ons. Add-on audio credits have no expiry date and are applied after your monthly allocation is exhausted.

Because access to audio narration requires an active subscription, any unused add-on audio credits will be inaccessible if your subscription is cancelled. Those credits will become available again if you reactivate a qualifying subscription. We do not issue refunds for add-on audio credits that are inaccessible due to a lapsed or cancelled subscription.

Pricing Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. If this affects your existing subscription, we will provide at least 60 days’ notice before the new price takes effect at renewal. If you do not agree with the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the renewal date. Price changes for new customers may take effect immediately.

Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Unless otherwise stated at the point of change, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you will retain access to the relevant paid features until then. We do not usually offer refunds for partial billing periods, unused time, or unused story generations. This does not affect any rights you may have under applicable law.

Intellectual Property

Restful Reads retains all intellectual property rights relating to the platform, software, branding, design, and service materials. You are responsible for the information and inputs you choose to provide for personalising stories. While you may request access to personal data in accordance with applicable law, we do not guarantee the availability of user inputs in their original or fully retrievable form.

Privacy & Data Protection

Your use of Restful Reads is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, store, and protect your data. By using the service, you consent to our data practices as outlined in that policy.

Service Availability

While we aim to provide a reliable service, availability may be affected by maintenance, technical issues, payment processing delays, third-party outages, or factors beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time.

Limitation of Liability

Restful Reads is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or engage in behaviour that compromises the platform or its users.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you of significant changes where appropriate. Continued use of the platform after updates indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
